Puzzle:
You are driving down the road in your car on a stormy night when you pass a bus stop with three people waiting for the bus.
1. An elderly lady who looks very ill and in critical condition.
2. An old friend who saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Knowing that there can only be one passenger in your car, whom would you choose and why?
Solution
The old lady. You would help the old lady into your car. Give your keys to your friend to drive the old lady to the hospital and you would wait for the bus with your perfect partner. Lateral thinking puzzles are like riddles. They are presented as unusual sets of circumstances and you become the detective to provide solutions, fill in the missing pieces, or determine what is going to happen next. They generally have multiple solutions as they are open ended by nature. There is often one “best” solution. Gathering information together is fun and creative.
