What Do CEOs Think? Part One
Organizations and businesses operate in a competitive and global environment. As a result, this makes creativity crucial. Creativity in the workplace propels new ideas and opens doors to new opportunities.
When IBM surveyed 1,500 CEOs, who were public sector leaders across 60 nations, they ranked creativity as the number one factor for business success. In addition, 60 per cent of the CEOs polled by IBM cited creativity as the most important leadership quality compared to 52 per cent for integrity, listed at number two, and 35 per cent for global thinking, listed as number three.
As businesses evolve, goals and priorities will need to change. Creativity in the workplace keeps an organization moving forward and prevents stagnation. According to the World Economic Forum Future of Jobs Report (an extensive survey of 371 senior talent global employers representing 13 million employees), creativity is ranked as the third most important work skill by 2020. Complex problem-solving and critical thinking are the top two most important work skills.
