Course Summary

Congratulations! You have completed the course "Developing a Training Needs Analysis."

In this course, we talked about an approach to conducting a training needs analysis within your organization or for a client. First, we defined the need and particulars for a training needs analysis, which compares the current state of the organization to the future or desired state. We also explored how the analysis is used to support a proposal for required training.

Next, we looked at the five important steps to collecting data and preparing it for the training needs analysis report that you will create.

Then, we moved on to look at data collection and analysis tools, including questions to ask, the McKinsey 7S Model, SWOT analysis, and Five Whys. We also used these tools in a case study. Next, we looked at the best way to bring all the information into a correctly structured report that is readable and understandable.

The last part of the course was dedicated to working through an example of your own training needs analysis.

You should now feel ready to take on basic elements of training needs analysis.
