Putting it All Together
We suggest adding something to move you towards your goals on your to-do list every week. Otherwise, you are not likely to get there.
In the example of taking the courses, you might start a course and then be deterred by an urgent week of meetings about the budget and evenings filled with events for the kids while your spouse is out of town. It can be easy to set the goal aside “just for now” and then let other things take priority. By the time you get back to the goal, your whole schedule is off track. Sometimes making adjustments is fine, and other times we have to adjust the adjustments to get things done.
